Before Me After Me is a deeply personal and visually captivating collection of images that tells the story of Matthew Raynor, from his time as a commercial fisherman to his rebirth as an artist. Through these stunning photographs, readers can trace the intense, raw power of the ocean during Matthew’s life at sea, leading to the dramatic moment when his life changed forever—the accident that broke his neck. This pivotal moment is marked by a powerful image of Matthew diving into the water, symbolizing the divide between his "before" and "after."
After his accident, Matthew embraced a new form of artistic expression: drone photography. The second half of the book chronicles his journey of transformation, where the images reflect a shift in perspective, capturing the serene beauty of landscapes from the skies. His photographs symbolize resilience, strength, and the decision to not just survive but to thrive through art.
Written and compiled by his dear friend Craig, Before Me After Me is more than just a book of photographs—it's a testament to the human spirit, a story of overcoming adversity, and an invitation to see the world through the eyes of someone who has truly lived.

“Before Me After Me” is Wonderful!
I love Matt Raynor’s beautiful photographic memoir of his life chronicled in rich photography about his life before and after his diving accident. Not only do I greatly admire his determination to have a new, different, and meaningful life after his accident, but his photographic talents of both periods of his life are excellent. Being an amateur photographer myself, I truly admire someone else’s dedication to excellence and self expression via this medium. Matt’s book is a beautiful expression of who he is! So glad I took the opportunity to get his book and enjoy his work!
